A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a poultry veterinarian based at our office in Newbridge, Edinburgh. As a key member of the UK Vet team, you will report directly to the Veterinary Director, Aviagen UK Ltd.

This senior role plays a key part in the Health and Welfare of Aviagen high generation breeding stock in Scotland and the North of England.

Key responsibilities include:

• Internal stakeholder liaison on behalf of UK Vet team
• Providing proactive advice on the health of our multi generation internal stock in our farming and hatchery facilities in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland
• Interact and liaise with our internal poultry laboratory
• Ensuring compliance with export health certification procedures in liaison with Official Veterinarians and relevant government departments.
• Providing (on a limited basis) technical veterinary advice to customers in the UK and overseas, supporting them to ensure optimum performance of Aviagen products. **Requirement for some travel
• Liaising with government organisations and other parts of the UK and European poultry industry and scientific community.
• CPD actively encouraged both within the UK and further afield

You will be a MRCVS with a genuine interest in poultry health and welfare, backed by a mix of formal qualifications and practical experience in poultry veterinary medicine.

You must possess the ability to influence stakeholders through excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential and competence in a second European language would be an advantage. You must be authorised to work in the UK.
