Real Time Recruitment Solutions Position – Senior Stress Engineer Type – Contract Rate – Circa £50.00 per hour Umbrella Co (DOE) Hours – Typically 37.5 hours per week Determination – Inside IR35 Duration – Minimum 6 months + Location – Warrington, Cheshire Security – UK BPSS Security Clearance Required Start Date – ASAP ? Description: All IT equipment will be provided and any travelling time and costs on company business will be paid for, but not commuting time and costs. Job Role Senior Stress Engineer Experience; ? Demonstrable experience in stress analysis covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities. ? Nuclear industry or other safety or regulated industry preferred. To undertake engineering conceptual and detailed calculations in the delivery of customer funded tasks and projects. Work will be directed and supervised by the Technical Lead and/or Functional Lead for the relevant task or project. May act as a Technical Lead or Functional Lead themselves (dependent on task/project complexity) and hence may supervise others. Engineering or Science degree qualified. Work in accordance with the Being Cavendish Nuclear Principles.
? Ensuring that procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
? Producing, reviewing, verifying and approving calculations, analyses and technical reports.
? Skills  • Competent in using ANSYS to conduct linear and non-linear Finite Element analysis – essential
• Competent in using LS-Dyna to conduct drop load and impact analysis – essential
• Competent in the assessment of structural/mechanical equipment against UK and/or European design codes. Competent in a wide range of classical stress analysis techniques for assessing mechanical and structural equipment.
• The ability to identify load paths and recommend design changes to ensure fit for purpose design before detailed analysis.
• Competency in seismic analysis preferred.
• Looks to improve own performance and that of others
