Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist- Haematology

Applications are invited for a HCPC Registered Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Haematology. The work site will predominantly be based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (Brighton). Sysmex, BD Biosciences, BioRad, Stago, Ortho Vision and StarrSed. We also provide haemoglobinopathy screening and immunophenotyping services.


You must also have an MSc or equivalent qualification in the appropriate speciality and at least 4 years' continuous post Specialist Portfolio registration (or CPSM/HPC logbook) experience within a diagnostic NHS Haematology laboratory.


You would be expected to have experience in delivering training, analyser troubleshooting and Quality management systems. You must have good knowledge of blood film morphology and technical knowledge of Haematology analytical instruments, be confident in leading a team and have good communication skills. The successful candidate is required to participate in the 24/7 shift working pattern after satisfying required competencies (including Coagulation and Blood Transfusion).
