We are excited to be searching for a Performance Services Manager to join our Women's Technical division.

The successful candidate will support and manage the discipline leads to drive the operational delivery of the pathway performance services strategy ensuring alignment to the strategic direction of the department.

What You'll Do?

Management & Delivery:

  • Facilitating and managing the discipline leads to delivering the performance services strategy to pathway teams, with football being the central component.
  • Drive a positive culture and team environment that encourages creative solutions and provides ongoing opportunities for full-time team members to develop.
  • To manage the recruitment, retention, deployment and development of casual pathway staffing across performance medicine, physical performance and nutrition and performance analysis.
  • Create and implement systems and methodologies to evaluate the development of pathway teams.
  • Support the continued development and delivery of the England Women's Blueprint for Success to England women's pathway teams.
  • To support the review and manage the performance department business plan and budget.

External Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and football organisations such as FIFA, UEFA, and women's professional game.

Strategic Direction:

  • To contribute to the strategic direction of the women's technical division supporting the delivery of strategic milestones and goals.
  • To assist the Head of Women's Performance in the strategic leadership of world class support services across all disciplines to underpin the England pathway teams closely aligned with England Women to deliver ongoing success.
  • To support in the strategic delivery of a cohesive women's performance research and innovative plan to underpin best practice.

Other:

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What You'll Need?

Essential for the role:

  • A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in sports science, sports medicine, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional body accreditation.
  • A track record of and current evidence of highly successful direct delivery in one of the related functions.
  • Proven successful experience in leading related functions in high-performing sports teams.
  • Outstanding academic and applied knowledge of contemporary practice in related functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent relationship builder.
  • Outstanding strategic and operational planning skills.

Beneficial to have:

  • Masters or doctorate in a related field of work.
  • Proven successful experience in leading related functions in elite football.
  • Detailed knowledge of Research & Development processes.

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.

The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, Adobe FA Women's Championship, and Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park,all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.

Your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre unless the role is advertised as a home-based contract. The contractual location of this role can be found at the top of this advert on our FA vacancy page.
