CG Artist

Viridian FX is one of the leading Visual Effects companies in the North of England. With over 20 feature film credits as the sole VFX team, we do everything from invisible effects to fully CG sequences.

After recent success working on shows such as House of the Dragon (HB), KAOS (Netflix), Heart of Stone (Netflix), Viridian are looking to grow our in-house team to work on more exciting projects we have coming up.

We are looking for experienced CG Artists to join our team in York. Applicants will need to demonstrate a broad understanding of the CG pipeline, and be confident creating high quality digital content, taking briefs from early concept artwork and developing them through to final renders. The role will be office based with flexible remote working optional.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

High resolution modelling and sculpting for hero assets and environments.

Texture and Shader work to fully realise photo realistic assets.

Scene Layout and efficient asset management.

Lighting and Rendering final scenes for review

Collaboration with other artists to maintain the highest quality across the pipeline

Requirements

A comprehensive knowledge of Maya, Zbrush, Substance Designer/Painter & Arnold

Comfortable working with Houdini, Unreal Engine, Nuke

Strong grasp of art fundamentals.

Highly motivated and self driven.

Disciplined approach to scene management

Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.

Experience with photogrammetry workflow.

Experience of 3 years or more working in industry.

Any experience rigging, animating, scripting or working with USD, would be a bonus.
