Our client, a leading global technical and engineering services partner in the defence industry are recruiting for a Human Factors Assessor to join the major projects located in Warrington & Aldermaston Benefits include: Pension Scheme UK Private Medical Insurance Life Assurance Income Protection The Human Factors Assessor is responsible for: Undertaking human factors design and safety case assessment, and associated activities, interfacing with engineering, project management, project controls and document management functions. Acting in any human factors or equivalent role. Supporting the Safety Case Manager; Supporting wider Programme safety case and engineering leads when requested. Assisting Head of Profession in capability development and establishment and implementation of resource strategies, recruitment plans and competence. Advises organisation and Client leadership, engineering, programme and project management, and clients (intelligent Customer), on regulatory compliance, standards and guidance. Interfacing as necessary with suppliers. Supporting the client in interactions with Regulators and safety committees. Requirements: Ideally hold a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) Human Factors assessment, and HAZAN production Experience of UK and International standards, e.g. Technical Assessment Guides Experience of a range of nuclear hazard identification and analytical tools Experience of ergonomics/human factors design Experience of relevant code (THERP, HEART etc.) application in a wide range of nuclear operations and fault scenarios Ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting; Ability to travel for several days at a time in the UK and occasional overseas travel Good oral and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing Good MS applications, organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work Desirable: Experience of UK nuclear site licensing, safety assessment principles, regulatory guidance on safety assessment and nuclear Site Licence Conditions; Experience in two or more UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organisations; Experience of Regulatory permissioning/flexible permissioning; Experience of safety case in civil reactors and defence sector; Experience of international nuclear safety assessment; Project management and project controls skills; Stakeholder management skills; Ability to mentor and coach.
