An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join our developing Medicine Optimisation team. We provide high quality support to our patients and are looking for a motivated, flexible and forward-thinking Pharmacytechnician. The successful applicant will join our friendly team of assistants, technicians and pharmacists. We are expanding our provision of ward based support on medical, cardiology, respiratory, endocrinology, gastroenterology, stroke and frailty, surgical and acute admissions wards.
As part of an integrated role, the post holder will work flexibly to deliver ward-based Pharmacy Medicine optimisation services and dispensary support. This role will include Medicine reconciliation, assessment of patient’s own drugs, counselling patients about their medicine, discharge facilitation and ward and dispensary-based medication supply.
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust provides acute health services for its local population of around 340,000 people and provides specialist services for a larger population of around 544,000 people. The hospital also provides emergency vascular services for Somerset and some parts of Dorset covering a population of around 800,000 people.
