Working from ideology that people achieve a more sustained recovery when community connection is apparent this is a team that comprises of skilled and specialised support staff working across all mental health pathways to assertively engage and support individuals in working towards therapeutic recovery.
This person will be a skillful communicator and able to liaise and negotiate across service boundaries across various settings. They will ideally be research aware, and use evidence to support and develop practice.
They will have some experience of mentoring and/or developing others and be familiar with supervising more junior members of staff, completing supervision and 1:1 appraisal. - Diploma/BSC (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing State registered with recognised body. Post Graduate training relevant to mental health work in appropriate speciality. Documented evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) Nurse mentor.
- Knowledge & SkillsDetailed knowledge of how mental health problems impact on individual functioning and how this is managed in a community setting. Knowledge of current best practice in community mental health, and awareness of relevant government directives and legislation. Specialist knowledge and application of mental health assessments and interventions using expert level clinical reasoning. Ability to work autonomously and set own and others priorities. Ability to work as autonomous specialist within an MDT setting. Ability to devise specialist interventions to address social inclusion needs. Confidently assess and manage risk in relation to mental health practice. Familiarity with outcome measures. Sophisticated reasoning skills to analyse professional and ethical issues.European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Supervisor and appraisal skills. Ability to reflect and critically appraise own and others performance. Ability to organise/co-ordinate and respond efficiently to complex information. Literature reviewing skills and ability to prepare briefing papers and written reports cogently summarising complex information Knowledge of current research in specialist area and ability to implement into practice Computer literacy.
