Out client are an exciting MSP based near Witney in Oxfordshire.Theyre currently looking for and experience Infrastructure Engineer tohelp support their growing team.

This role ispart of the platform support function, responsible for theprovisioning, support, maintenance and operation of our clientsplatform services and internal support provision.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act asan escalation point within Technical Services for technical issues.
  • To provide guidance and support to the wider IT services inline with the IT strategy
  • Act as a technical lead on specificprojects (server, storage, systems, networks) and help to track andmanage delivery of projects across the team.
  • To contribute tothe drive of using automation to create efficiencies.
  • Helpmentor and develop other members of the Technical Services and widersupport teams.
  • Propose and lead initiatives within thedepartment, such as process or service improvements, or new trainingprograms.
  • Engage and build relationships with both technicaland non-technical resources and stakeholders amongst customers andstaff.
  • Manage additions, deletions and changes in line withthe companies ISO9001 and ISO27001 quality and information securitysystems.
  • Maintaining system updates across the estate in linewith Cyber Essentials plus requirements.

  • Responsiblefor the technical delivery of technical systems/network projects onthe most secure, reliable and resilient platforms.
  • To ensurecompliance with the defined security policies regarding access to theInternal systems
  • Strong understanding of all services withinIT, particularly those pertaining to infrastructure.
  • Strongtime management and organisational techniques must be willing to workunder own instruction.
  • To ensure that the internal systemsuptime is maintained at the required level
  • To maintain anaccurate asset register
  • To ensure all systems and devices areupdated and secured in a timely manner
  • To ensure that backupsand business continuity procedures are adhered to
  • To makerecommendations on potential improvements to internal systems toimprove service levels and security
  • Ensure all governanceprocesses are followed, which will include standards, policies anddesigns being approved at the Technical Design Authority; and changesbeing implemented in a controlled scheduled manner after approval fromthe Change Approval Board.
  • You will take ownership of keyservices within the systems and network support functions, and ensurethe stability and availability these provide to the business.
  • Ensure requests are dealt with in a timely manner inaccordance with SLA's
  • You will possess good interpersonalskills, with a pragmatic approach to the customer, be flexible, andwilling to work outside normal office hours, where appropriate toachieve the task in hand.
  • As a member of a team, you willneed to respect the opinions of others and we want people to have acommon project goal and share in a knowledge sharing culture.
  • You will be responsible for the for the provisioning,support, maintenance and operation of our clients platform servicesand internal support provision.
  • The role will be working withother teams providing technical assistance to pre-sales requests andtender responses where necessary.
  • You will be able to workalone or as part of a team with the ability to stay calm andproductive under pressure.
  • You should be self-motivated withexcellent planning and organisational skills.
  • You will have aproven track record in a platform role and have experience inproducing appropriate documentation.,

Required

  • At least 2 year experience withVeeam Backup & Replication
  • At least 2 years experience withServer Virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Microsoft Windows Technologies - Server & Desktop
  • Storage (SAN, NAS)
  • Networking Fundamentals (TCP/IP,DHCP, DNS, routing and switching)
  • Server & Desktop hardware
  • Ability to contribute to departmental processes
  • Willingness to adapt and think outside the box
