Vehicle Mechanic:A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be a part of our fast growing prestige and performance car dealership located on the south coast between Southampton and Portsmouth. We pride ourselves on extremely high standards and our stock portfolio reflects this.Vehicle Mechanic Role:Applicants must have a very high level of attention to detail, be able to work in a methodical fashion, use their own initiative and work independently or in a team when required. Previous experience with mechanical repairs is essential. Candidates actively looking to develop themselves further in terms of skillset will be supported by us. Must have a full UK driving licence. Extremely competitive rates of pay offered for the right candidate who can demonstrate the skills required to grow alongside the company. The successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will be working on prestige cars and no two days are the same. The successful applicant will also have the benefit in working alongside us as we further develop our workshop facilities and equipment.Vehicle Mechanic General Duties :* Vehicle Inspections* General Servicing* Correction / repair of vehicle defects* MOT Preparation / presentation* Completion of all required paperwork* Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including electronic vehicle health checks)* Identify non-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests* Undertake timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards* Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers* Work closely with the rest of the team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on all vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed* Discuss technical issues/works directly with management & customers when requested* Work with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiencyVehicle Mechanic: Key Skills & Experience Required -* You will need to be an experienced Vehicle Mechanic.* Have relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds)* Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop* Be customer focused, possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience* Have a first-time fix mentality* Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills* Be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other staff members* A confident driver with a full UK driving license* Have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed* Good communication skills with management and the team* A meticulous eye for detail, going above and beyond the call of duty* Ability to work under pressure for meeting deadlines* A keen interest in cars alongside knowledge of brands and models* Must be presentable and articulate
