Data Cabling Engineer
Contract Role
Hamilton Woods Associates is looking to hire two Data Cabling Engineers for a 3-month contract. The working hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with contracts scheduled to begin from early November.
Role And Responsibilities Of The Data Cabling Engineer
As a Data Cabling Engineer working on this contract in Westminster, London, your primary responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the seamless and reliable transmission of data and communication within theatres.
Install data cabling infrastructure, routing cables from access points within theatres to the communication or comms room.
Ensure that cabling is properly routed, terminated, and organized, in accordance with industry standards for optimal performance and safety.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on the existing data cabling systems, proactively identifying and rectifying any connectivity issues.
Strictly adhere to all relevant industry standards and regulations governing data cabling, guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of the network infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with theatre staff and management to schedule installation and maintenance activities that cause minimal disruption to ongoing performances.
Execute rigorous quality assurance checks to verify that data cabling installations conform to required specifications and performance standards.
Maintain meticulous records detailing cabling layouts, configurations, and any modifications made during installation and maintenance processes.
Skilfully employ your own hand tools for various installation and maintenance tasks, including crimping, stripping, and cable testing.
Showcase problem-solving prowess when diagnosing and addressing issues within the cabling infrastructure.
Minimum 5 years' experience data cabling
Fully complaint with all latest industry standards
Can work in central London 0 no accommodation provided.
This role is crucial for maintaining the technical infrastructure of theatres to support their audio-visual systems, lighting, ticketing, and communication needs. The Data Cabling Engineer ensures that all aspects of data connectivity run smoothly, contributing to the overall success of theatre productions and events.
