We are looking to recruit 2 Managing Directors one to lead the development of the Specialist Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care Care Group and one for the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Care Group.

These Managing Director roles will have responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the Care Group, and will contribute to the overall Trust through the delivery of short to medium term objectives.

You will lead the Care Group senior leadership team consisting of a Director of Nursing, Medical Director and a clinical and operational management structure.

You will ensure that the intended outcomes for quality, performance, finance, workforce, transformation and collaborative system working are delivered both within your respective Care Group and across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The predominant responsibilities of the role will be to lead the development of the Specialist Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care Care Group and one for the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Care Group, ensuring that the intended outcomes for quality, performance, finance, workforce, transformation and collaborative system working are delivered.

The post holder will have responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the Care Group, and will contribute to the overall Trust through the delivery of short to medium term objectives.

Knowledge Training and Experience

Essential


  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry
  • Proven Board level experience of leading and delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment
  • Member of a relevant professional Body

Desirable


  • Qualification in management coaching or improvement

Communication Skills

Essential


  • Dynamic personality and the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and wide support networks in a political context
  • Strong external communications skills in a politically sensitive environment and experience in handling media
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Extensive experience of delivering presentations to large groups of stakeholders in often pressured and politically sensitive environments

  • Experience of being a member of a Board
