Randstad are keen to recruit an experienced Youth Community Worker who will become an integral part of an experienced Social Care team providing invaluable support to senior Social Workers and management teams in the delivery & provision of efficient and effective services to children & families across Northern Ireland.

Requirements

  • Valid UK Driving licence essential
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Child Care, Youth Work or Health and Social Care
  • Min 2 years experience working with young people aged 12 - 18
  • Experience working with looked after children would be highly advantageous
  • NISCC Registered
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload
  • Ability to build rapport with parents, young people & social care professionals
  • Due to the nature of this role, candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an Enhanced Access NI check

Responsibilities

  • To engage young people in a range of activities to enhance positive community integration
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders including the PSNI, Youth Justice Agency, Schools and Education and training providers and relevant voluntary and community organisations
  • Liaise with all other appropriate persons involved in the care of the young person
  • Support Social Workers with a range of activities including reporting
  • Lead by example in the promotion of high standards of care, to ensure a quality service
  • Co-ordinate effective and holistic care in a multi-professional setting
  • Helping in the planning of care using person centred planning
