IT Security Manager

We are excited to recruit a new position to lead on all aspects of IT Security for applications within the IT & Digital Services division. You will lead in the evaluation of new projects, software and hardware products, and vendors, including examining vendor contracts and terms of service.
You will support teams across the council to develop their understanding of security risk and data privacy issues.
You will bring a Service Management mindset to understanding the security landscape, with experience of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Ultimately you will provide the reporting and assurance to the Director of IT & Digital Services of our enterprise security.

We are looking for a someone who will take lead on the security of the Council as well as partner in technology to put in place control over security systems, such as firewalls, data protection controls, patching, encryption, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
You will be responsible for achieving compliance with Public Sector Network (PSN) and related government frameworks including those of the Cyber Security Centre, the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and Information Security.
The Council Office but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role.
