Job Title: Cyber Risk Mitigation Project Manager

Location: Portsmouth (2-3 days per week on-site)

Salary: £65,000

Industry: Naval/Maritime/Military

Clearance: SC clearance needed

Our client is a leading provider of Cyber Security Consultancy dedicated to helping organizations enhance their cyber risk management practices. They focus on ensuring resilience and security across their clients' operations through strategic transformation initiatives.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, SC cleared, Cyber Risk Mitigation Project Manager with a background in Naval, Maritime, or Military environments. In this pivotal role, you will assist clients in enhancing their cyber risk mitigation capabilities. This includes managing and delivering discrete projects, strategic guidance, and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and manage risk mitigations from federated teams through discrete projects, ensuring coherence and focused outputs such as:
  • Culture, awareness, and behavior interventions
  • Addressing DLODs to deliver capabilities into service
  • Providing support into the SbD
  • Digitizing risk metrics and processes using automation tools
  • Support cybersecurity audits and interpret data from culture surveys, communicating key messages to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage the Cyber Risk Kanban, determining task priorities, ownership, and efficient plan management.
  • Ensure traceability of activities within the client’s framework.
  • Chair Kanban reviews and oversee requirements for CDIO briefings.
  • Provide oversight of key objectives and activities delivered by junior colleagues.
  • Offer strategic guidance and recommendations on cyber risk mitigation performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Support organizational change by fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and resilience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cyber risk mitigation approaches with client objectives, adapting to evolving needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to cybersecurity, integrating relevant insights into mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Risk Management, Project Management, or a related field is desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as APMG Agile Project Management, Scrum Master, APMQ, PRINCE2, or similar are desirable.
  • Proven experience as a project manager working with specialists to deliver risk mitigations.
  • Experience in managing activities from identification to recommendations, securing additional resources as necessary.
  • Proficiency in risk management tools or software is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively for oneself and others in line with client needs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity and project management.
  • A background of 5+ years in Defence Cyber Security with a focus on project management is desirable.
