We are looking to recruit dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare Assistant who has a passion for delivering high quality care within a community setting. They will be working within the Primary Care Network (PCN) Community Team, based in Champ Central, Chichester and its surrounding area.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking for a career within healthcare, or an existing Band 3 Healthcare Assistant who wants to develop their clinical knowledge and practice within the community. Community and healthcare experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be given to develop the skills and knowledge required for this role such as insulin administration, wound care, completing observations, Catheter care and venepuncture.
a)To undertake non-complex clinical procedures under the guidance of senior team members e.g. venepuncture, patient specific sub-cutaneous injections, sample collection, blood pressure monitoring, medications, wound care, Catheter care and other tasks according to training and competencies. c) Liaising with clients, colleagues, family and other professionals in ensuring integrated quality care is provided.
d) To keep accurate, timely records according to Trust policy.
e) To escalate and report patient progress/ status on a shift by shift basis tosenior team members
f) To demonstrate flexibility and adaptability working across community teams according to service needs.
g) To commit to undertaking training and education to progress clinical skills as indicated by service development needs
h) To respond effectively and actively to complaints and escalate appropriately following departmental policies.

NVQ level III in Health Care or equivalent experience
Experience of working in a caring environment, either in health, social or voluntary services
Experience of working with adults and/or experience of working in community or home care services.
Basic understanding of statutory health and social services.
Ability to visit patients in the community unsupervised
Ability to deal with a wide range of people at all levels, including clients, carers, health and social care colleagues and other professionals.
Willingness to undertake job related training and multi-disciplinary competencies Able to prioritise and plan own workload.
Ability to understand work related boundaries and refer matters of importance to a senior colleague
Basic computer skills.
Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
Awareness of National and Local agendas pertinent to the service.
Car Driver and access to a car for work purposes
