About Our Client
Our client is a global leader in the Manufacturing industry with a significant presence in Oxford.
Job Description
- Overseeing procurement/Purchasing Operational activities Including Supply Chain management Operations.
- Developing and executing effective purchasing strategies.
- Managing relationships and negotiations with key suppliers.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings in the procurement process.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Conducting market research to keep abreast of trends in the Life Science industry.
- Managing and developing the procurement team.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure business objectives are met.
- The role is a Purchasing Ops Manager. it is quite an operational procurement and systems biased role covering all elements of site procurement for this large manufacturing organisation
The Successful Applicant
A successful Purchasing Manager should have:
- An academic background in Business, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management in the Life Science industry.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- Leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage a team.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Purchasing Operations/P2P
- Contract management
- RFP/RFQ
- Procurement Administration
- Procurement Process and Systems Management
