We are seeking duty solicitors and solicitors who wish to become duty qualified to join us in Medway, Kent.

Main responsibilities of the role

Providing representation at police stations.

Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including court appearances, trials, and hearings.

Liaising with clients, counsel, defendants and other parties.

Collating and reviewing documentation and evidence.

Litigating cases.

Conducting advocacy.

Managing a caseload efficiently.

Essential key skills

Fully qualified as a solicitor.

Advocacy and litigation skills.

Clean and valid practicing certificate at the time of applying.

Excellent client care skills.

Preferred key skills

Fully qualified as police station representative.

Knowledge of the Legal Aid system.

Specialist expertise in one or more areas of criminal law.

Experience with private clients and an ability to generate more private client cases.
