JOB TITLE: WORK PACK ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s ‘Eight Golden Rules’.
  • ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work.
  • Technical author of work packs including Risk Assessments, Job cards, materials, Peer reviews, HAZID's, COSHH, Inspection & testing requirements, specialist tools and equipment.
  • Ensure that HSEQ, Engineering, Construction, Completions, Maintenance and Operational requirements are included within all Work packs.
  • Meet the requirements of the agreed schedule for all Work pack deliverables.
  • Develop work scope estimates and register changes with supporting documentation.
  • To provide technical assurance to the project that previous lessons learned have been captured and incorporated into the scope of work.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Scope of Work (SOW) and Statement Of Requirement (SOR) have been fully addressed within each Work pack.
  • Interface with Design and Construction Teams to optimize build and handover sequence.
  • Ensure that constructability is inherent within the scope of work.
  • Ensure that all items required for construction readiness are clearly identified within the Work pack.
  • Identify specialists / vendors to perform identified tasks.
  • Conduct offshore surveys as and when required.
  • Develop certification matrix with completions team prior to work pack issue.
  • Address installation queries and revert with solutions.
  • Monitor and report on work pack progress.
  • Check completed work packs prior to handover, raise punch lists if appropriate. Manage / action and close out accordingly.
  • Review completion certification and 'as-build' drawings.
  • Ensuring compliance with Petrofac’s ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures. Complying with other Petrofac accredited frameworks such as ISO14001.
  • Performs related duties as agreed with Construction Manager / Project Manager.
  • Due to the nature of the role, previous offshore experience is essential. This role will include an amount of Offshore time to complete surveys, progress updates, problem solving etc

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience of FEED/ Detailed Design and EPC projects.
  • Appreciation of other engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Experience in decommissioning of offshore assets preferable
  • Experience in offshore rig interface preferable
  • NVQ Level 3 or 2 to 5yrs experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry in a similar position.

  • Coordinates the production of work pack deliverables for an agreed scope of work, in accordance with the plan. Coordinates input from multiple engineering disciplines, design teams, procurement, project controls and third parties.

  • Duties essentially performed in Main Office. Time spent in planning, coordination, and attending meetings. Required to travel to other Petrofac offices, Offshore locations, Client’s offices, and attend site visits as necessary, in accordance with corporate or project requirements.
