We are looking to appoint a talented pharmacy technician who is visionary, high performing and able to manage the workload and pressure of this key NHS role. You will be responsible for the design, delivery and leadership of cutting edge educational activities for pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff in line with the strategy of the Trust, Pharmacy department and NHSE


We already train a large number of pharmacy technicians many of whom are partaking in cross-sector placements across Sussex. You will act as the educational programme director for our internal trainees whilst strengthening existing relationships with our partners.


As a UK registered pharmacy technician with GPhC registration you will still be an active practitioner both in the dispensary and on the wards with patients, utilising your medicines management skills.

Mange the education, training and continual professional development of all pharmacy technical and support staff.
Lead, manage and administer the apprenticeship training for pharmacy technicians and assistants in the Trust.
Liaise with other senior pharmacy technicians to ensure rotas accommodate the training needs of technicians and assistants within the department at both sites.
Advise the Trust Clinical Pharmacy Lead on the delivery, strategic development and cost implications of future training needs for technical and support staff.
Mentor & support qualified pharmacy technicians through pharmacy accreditation schemes.
Support the Lead Pharmacist for Education & Development with the delivery of any in-house training initiatives required to meet local and national requirements.
Liaise between the Trust Learning and Development department and pharmacy department to support all pharmacy staff Statutory and Mandatory Training (STAM) and work experience placements.

Qualification at degree level, Leadership qualification or equivalent level of experience working at a senior level
Significant experience in a hospital pharmacy post qualification
