Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a large Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) School based in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children need additional support due to having behavioural needs, as well as experience inworking with children ages 5 to 16 years old. The school caters for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties in Key Stage 1 to 4. The school aims to assist the children with extra support.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position .

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional support and guidance to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Proficiency in utilising technology for teaching and learning purposes.
