Residential Conveyancer and Assistant

Swift Placements are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our client based in Harrogate for a Legal Assistant/Commercial Conveyancing Assistant. This role involves providing administrative and clerical support to the commercial conveyancing team, assisting in the smooth and efficient processing of commercial property transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures related to commercial conveyancing, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Prior experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal is essential as is experience of working in a conveyancing department.
Audio and Copy Typing and Digital Dictation, File opening and client onboarding.
* Liaising with clients and other third parties, when necessary, in the office and by telephone.
* Reception duties.
* Filing and other clerical duties.
* File closing, archiving and strong room maintenance.
* Updating legal reference material, hard copy of electronic.
* Sorting and preparing outgoing mail.
* Preparation of instructions for fee earners to be passed to the Client Services Administration Department.
* Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures.
* To undertake specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
* Proven experience working as a legal assistant or conveyancing.
* Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation related to conveyancing.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
* 24 days+ Bank Holidays
