The Role
We're looking for an experienced industry leader for the role of Chief Technology Officer.
You will be leading, advising and providing technical guidance on a wide range of client and projects focused on optimising cell culture processes, with the aim of turning these into commercial manufacturing processes that are low-cost, efficient and sustainable. You will be guiding the design of experimental programs including process design using a DOE approach, process intensification including perfusion, and scale up using appropriate scaling parameters. You will be directing and managing R&D projects, and will be responsible for the quality of data collection. You don't need to be an expert in all, but you need to be able to adapt your skillset to each given challenge.
This role will utilise your skills or understanding in:
Animal cell culture requirements across various scales and methodologies.
Design of Experiments.
Data analysis of complex data sets.
Leading a team of people to deliver project goals.
Safe working practices in a life science lab.
The Candidate Profile
You will likely have 5-10 years of experience working in process development and production of mammalian-based products, but we value quality of experience over quantity.
You'll have experience being a leader and as line manager.
You'll need excellent organisational skills and a great attention to detail with a focus on data quality and integrity.
You will be responsible for implementing continuous improvement processes, to support efficiencies and better ways of working.
Experience implementing a quality management system or electronic lab notebooks is a strong plus.
You'll need to be a genuine team-player who asks for help when it's needed and offers help when it isn't.
You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities and being proactive in finding innovative ways to move projects forward at pace. You'll see failure as a learning opportunity.
