We are looking for an individual who has genuine passion for and commitment to ensure high quality, equitable and consistent education and training is delivered to education settings and other providers.

This post is county wide and predominantly Mon - Fri 9-5pm however flexibility of working patterns will be required with some evening and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

Responsibility for providing direct management and leadership to a skill mix team along with providing oversight of the coordination of training across a variety of settings in Cornwall. This includes providing specialist advice and guidance through teaching, mentoring and supervision, quality assurance through feedback and audit alongside reviewing and monitoring of clinical and professional standards of care. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work clinically 1 day a week and at times of high demand this will likely increase.

A close working relationship with counterparts across the Integrated Care Partnership, Education settings and Regulatory bodies is a key requirement of the role.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
  • Current professional registration - NMC
  • Professional qualification - RSCN- Child Branch/ RNLD
  • Possession of a relevant degree or relevant experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of coordinating and or managing patient care.
  • Post graduate teaching qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.
  • Extensive post registration experience of working with children who have complex and life limiting nursing needs in the community
  • Substantial experience with the following clinical interventions including enteral feeding, patient monitoring, administration of medication, tracheostomy care, ventilation, and Intravenous administration
  • Experience of supporting/mentoring junior staff
Desirable
  • To have or be willing to work towards IOSH
  • Leadership or management qualification at Level 5 or above or willingness to undertake
  • Independent non-medical prescriber
  • Experience of managing change
  • Experience of delivering training to registered and non-registered professionals, carers, and families in a variety of settings including education.
