We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Financial Controller / Qualified Accountantwith proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, an accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA and good leadership skills with a strategic mindset.
As the Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant you will oversee the organisation’s financial operations and ensure sound financial management practices.
Working as the Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls.
Your duties as a Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant will include:
Financial Reporting:
~ Prepare timely and accurate financial statements

~ Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements

~ Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors

Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management

~ Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations

~ Forecast financial results and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

Financial Analysis:
~ Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement

~ Analyse financial trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and key financial metrics

~ Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management

Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and financial obligations

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards

~ Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud

Financial Systems and Processes:
~ Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

~ Implement best practices in financial management and reporting

~ Provide training and support to finance staff on financial systems and procedures

Lead and mentor the finance team

~ Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department

~ Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

~ Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis

~ Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements

~ Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; Advanced Excel and modelling skills

~ Experience of facilities/real estate and/or the building management industry
