You will own the end-to-end bid process methodology across the Bid lifecycle including managing an opportunity from identification and qualification through to submission and post-bid activities whilst ensuring the implementation of Trustmarque bid governance and commercial processes.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Lead & Develop Bid Team: Build & empower a high-performing team to secure bids.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify & implement automation to streamline bid management.
  • Bid Lifecycle Management: Oversee all aspects of bid preparation and submission, including qualification, sales integration, and leadership engagement.
  • Complex Bids: Take ownership of larger, cross-functional bids.
  • Support Head of Bids: Deputize for the Head of Bids as needed.
  • Bid Governance: Ensure bid management processes are structured, clear, and compliant.
  • Virtual Team Management: Lead virtual bid teams with stakeholders across all levels and partners.
  • Expert Engagement: Gather input from SMEs (Sales, Marketing, etc.) for high-quality proposals.
  • Win Strategy: Collaborate with Sales to develop strategies that leverage Trustmarque's unique selling points (USPs) and differentiators.
  • Strategic Alignment: Qualify bids to ensure alignment with company strategy.
  • Bid Planning & Risk Management: Build bid plans with risk tracking and management.
  • Bid/No-Bid Decisions: Contribute to qualification meetings and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Proposal Development: Write, edit, and format high-quality bid responses that articulate win themes and meet customer criteria.
  • Commercial Management: Review commercial aspects of bids, ensuring pricing accuracy, risk mitigation, and business approvals.
  • Deadline & Compliance: Meet all internal and customer deadlines, ensuring bids comply with bid terms and have necessary sign-offs.
  • Submission Quality: Deliver high-quality bid documents that are compliant, clear, concise, compelling, and meet customer scoring criteria.

You'll also: 

  • Market Research: Identify and distribute bid opportunities based on market trends.
  • Project Handover: Conduct handover sessions to operational and delivery teams.
  • Stakeholder Training: Train stakeholders on key aspects of frameworks won.
  • Bid Library Management: Maintain and update the central Bid Library.
  • Management Information: Provide management information to the Head of Deal Enablement.
  • Framework Management: Liaise with framework bodies and manage framework accreditations.
  • Quality Assurance: Serve as a Quality Assurance reviewer for the Bid Team.

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Ability in managing large scale, complex, multi-stakeholder, £multi-million, multi-workstream IT product and/or services bids
  • Skills in managing large bid teams through virtual work environments
  • Excellent communicator, skills and experience working with CEO / Director level (internal and external)
  • Conversant with the UK’s
    • Public sector procurement frameworks
    • Competitive Value-Added Reseller marketplace
  • Strong commercial understanding and profit & loss / risk management experience
  • Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures
  • APMP or Shipley certification
  • Experience of input into value proposition development, opportunity qualification, win strategy, commercial discussions, and solution reviews
  • Experience in change management
