Job Description

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a successful banking firm with a strong global presence, offering a comprehensive range of services across corporate and investment banking activities.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in Regulatory Affairs.
  • Maintain an effective, professional and proactive relationship with UK regulators and assist the Local Compliance Officers in dealing with their regulators in the EMEA.
  • Coordinate with/respond to Head Offices on information
  • Arrange regulatory engagements such as meetings, teleconferences and visits.
  • Prepare briefings and materials appropriate to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Take accurate and succinct minutes of high standard noting down any actions.
  • Prepare committee papers and reports highlighting the key regulatory issues to senior management.
  • Review consultation papers and policy statements from UK and EU regulators to ensure the requirements can be assessed correctly and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Provide subject matter expertise support for the horizon scanning tool
  • Participate in other Compliance initiatives to share and expand knowledge

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Considerable Experience of advising businesses on how to comply with laws, rules and regulations
  • Ideally experience in a regulatory affairs role or similar
  • Investigating potential or actual breach of relevant laws, rules and regulations
  • Good knowledge of Financial Services laws and regulations
  • Financial markets and Banking activities
  • Financial market awareness and interest in current affairs (economic and political)
