Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for the management and servicing of Aircraft Ground support equipment, general upkeep and maintenance of the Hangar and office complex, and overall responsibility for the company vehicle servicing/repairs and condition. In addition to this, you will plan the coordination and towing related to aircraft movements at the Bournemouth facility.We are looking for a highly professional individual who will respond to the needs of the business. You will possess extensive experience within mechanical maintenance of either vehicles, marine or plant equipment. The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as work as part of the wider Engineering Team is essential to the successful delivery of this role. Yes, we fly but we also save lives, provide mission critical intelligence, and build systems that deliver decisive advantage.With operations in the UK and Middle East a career with us can offer travel, personal growth opportunities and the ability for long-term progression in a fast paced and dynamic service industry./ Responsibilities:Carrying out regular, preventative inspection and maintenance of hangar support equipment/GSEEnsuring the calibration deadlines are coordinated and met in advance of due datesWorking with the Warehouse Supervisor, to plan and coordinate the service, repair and calibration of all GSE & tooling in the hangar, while maintaining them in a state conducive to an efficient hangar operationResponsible for timely completion of scheduled routine/mandatory inspections and repairs as required, and reporting all deficiencies and non-compliance’s using the company reporting systemsEffective management of tooling in the corridor system (e.g. quarantine controls etc)Liaising with Compliance, Health & Safety teams to ensure compliance including monitoring, recording, and reportingWeekly review of ‘in use’ POLA items in the Hangar cabinets removing expired and non-identifiable items and maintaining inventory as agreed with Supply ChainWeekly review/replenishment of COSHH lockers, maintaining inventory as agreed with Health and safety teamWeekly review/replenishment of Commercial lockers, maintaining inventory to agreed levelsProviding escorting for external contractors on our site on requestProvide reciprocal support to the facilities assistant where required, with duties such as light housekeeping/maintenance tasks in the hangar, waste disposalOversight and management of company vehicles servicing and general maintenance needsComply with the processes, policies and procedures incorporated in the Ground Handling Procedures Manual to handle company and third-party aircraftWork with shift leads and lead engineers to plan/coordinate the daily aircraft movementsCoordinate and perform aircraft pushback and towing, including aircraft manoeuvring in/out of hangarFollow company towing procedures and ensure safety of personnel and productMaintain required records in relation to ground handling operationsAssist with the loading/unloading of patients to air ambulance aircraftEscort Ambulances on site as requiredFacilitate security escorting of contractors as requiredAct as duty First Aider and Fire Marshall/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:EssentialRecognised industry qualification in a mechanical or automotive disciplineExtensive experience of mechanical maintenance of vehicles, marine or plant equipmentHighly skilled in general maintenance of plant equipmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in the use of MS Office programs including Word and ExcelReliable and punctual individualAbility to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as being a strong team playerPossess an eye for detail and able to work to processes and proceduresA full UK driving licence is requiredAdvantageousForklift and cherry picker/IPAF (MEWP - mobile elevated working platform) licenses beneficialExperience of towing aircraft and driving HGV type vehicles is desirableExperience of working in an airport ramp environment is desirableExperience within the aviation/aerospace industry will be highly advantageousOrganised and competent in tracking and managing tasks in a database would be useful/ In addition to a Competitive Salary, we will offer you:Great work life balance with a 5-5-4 shift patternCompetitive Group Pension SchemeComprehensive Life Assurance *Comprehensive Income Protection *Comprehensive Travel Insurance *Comprehensive Private Healthcare (after successful passing of probation) *Free Car Parking2 Paid Volunteering Days each calendar year (subject to line manager approval)*(Subject to insurance underwriting)Due to the volume of applications received, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
