The role is based at Burham WTW, a key site within the CMDP JV framework. This role involves managing a significant investment project with complex challenges and long-term involvement through AMP 8. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will report directly to the Project Manager (PM) and will be responsible for supporting the PM in various capacities, including project governance, supply chain relationships, and client-facing outputs. The APM will also assist in enhancing health, safety, quality, environmental outcomes, customer satisfaction, and commercial success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all legal and industry standards are met.
  • Collaborate with the PM to maintain health and safety management throughout the project.
  • Administer the Project Management Plan to accommodate Quality Assurance in all aspects.
  • Implement the Business Management System.
  • Ensure project staff are adequately trained and experienced.
  • Understand the client contract and the supply chain contracts.
  • Work with the PM and QS to manage project costs and design costs.
  • Become proficient in using the client’s digital platforms.
  • Ensure project outputs are communicated effectively to the team.
  • Manage accountability of stakeholders in relation to program obligations.
  • Escalate key project issues and risks to the PM or QS with mitigation plans.
  • Maintain quality management and report to meet client KPIs.
  • Strive for continuous improvement against contractual KPIs.
  • Lead project governance from a client-facing perspective.
  • Assist in resource profiling for the project.
  • Support the Site Manager in reporting on look-ahead and supply chain progress.
  • Represent the PM in client meetings and report back on issues or actions.
About the Candidate: Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Educated to HND/HNC level or with relevant vocational/professional qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Good working knowledge of H&S legislation, particularly CDM duty holder relationships.
  • Holds an H&S qualification (SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CMI, ICE).
  • Working towards professional recognition with a chartered body.
  • Experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Valid full driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience with water treatment plants.
  • Good knowledge of digital delivery tools
