As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Full time and Part time contracts are available. We can accommodate shifts for those looking for weekend work only. Example of shift times are 07:00 am - 14:30 pm, 14:30 pm - 22:00 pm and then waking nights/sleep ins 22:00 pm - 07:00 am. Our Rotas are organised 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your social life well ahead.
No experience is required but we are looking for people who share our values which are

BakingThe bungalow has a games room which includes a pool table with other games and activities they enjoy doing together. What does a Support Worker do?
If you choose to work at Mencap, you will be involved in the day to day lives of the people that we support. You will need to provide an outstanding service that enables a more comfortable, dignified and happy life for the people we support. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day - assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking healthy meals.
Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
Community & Social Inclusion- supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) + a variety of benefits including pension and holiday buying options.
Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
