System Support Engineer - hemel Hempsted

Description
We're looking for a System Support Engineer to join our IT team at our Hemel Head Office.

Reporting to the Head of Application Support, you will be responsible for ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our application ecosystem, with a primary focus on middleware engineering. Providing technical support for applications by troubleshooting issues, maintain software systems by performing upgrades and maintenance tasks.

As a system support engineer you will be expected to lead technical planning activities for any application support, coordinating efforts among internal teams and external partners. Whilst providing technical insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making in middleware engineering high performance and security standards.

By conducting in-depth technical analysis of application platforms and services, you will be able to focus on the removal of technical debt and implementation of industry best practices. Driving collaborations with various stakeholders to elevate the performance and reliability of our IT landscape.

As with all roles at Butlin's, no day will be the same and you will need to enjoy thinking on your feet, getting stuck in, and ensuring that our guest experience is always your number one priority.



About You

We are looking for a system support engineer with proven 3rd Line Application Support in a similar role with hands-on approach.

Demonstrating the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider IT team. Familiarity with security best practices in an application environment, vendor management skills and experience working with external partners.

Technical knowledge in Server and Middleware/ Physical and virtual servers/ server hardware and firmware management / Networking and storage and Cloud Technologies along with other applications.

You should have excellent communication skills and be confident engaging with teams at all levels. You should also have a curious mindset and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.
