ILS Eng/Technical Author - Attractive - Contract Rates - Defence and Aviation Systems (Inside IR35)An ILS Eng/Technical Author is required to join a market leading Innovative Defence Systems and Aviation Company. The ILS Eng/Technical Author will be responsible for conducting all ILS Eng/Technical Author activities on any Programmes that have been assigned to them. The ILS Eng/Technical Author will develop and manage effective relationships across the breadth of the company and its customers and have the confidence to technically lead cross discipline project teams. The successful ILS Eng/Technical Author will be expected to bring maturity and credibility when engaging with customers, senior managers and stakeholders.ILS Eng/Technical Author - Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain the Company DRACAS toolAttend both internal and external meetings, as and when requiredCarry out reliability, and maintainability assessments on the system and componentsCollate DRACAS data from all appropriate sources for the serviced projectCreate Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) data for system items of equipmentPopulate any required LSA databaseGenerate Obsolescence notification formsIdentify and report trends and problem characteristics within the incidentsInitiate NATO codification of new and revised items of supplyReview and assess the impact of technical queries on the system documentationReview and assess Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) output.Review and assess availability models for the system or system LRUsSupport the ILS Manager in the generation of estimatesReview and assess availability models for the system or system LRUsReview and assess general purpose tools and test equipment for suitabilityProvide ILS input for technical documentationTechnical Skills and Experience for ILS Eng/ Technical AuthorWe expect the incoming ILS Eng/Technical Author to be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:Ability to manage conflicting priorities and timescalesExcellent attention to detail with high accuracyAbility to process high volumes of work and within structured protocolsExcellent organisational and planning skills (ability to meet tight timeframes)Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient IT Skills and strong inter-personal and people management skillsKnowledge and awareness of availability modellingAwareness of technical publication processExcellent knowledge and understanding of Reliability, Maintainability and AvailabilityGood understanding of the requirements for Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) recordsPrevious experience in delivering ILS Services to Defence Standards to the MODProven experience in ILS and/or Supportability and Data ReportingKnowledge of analysis and Corrective Action System (DRACAS)Able to work effectively and proficiently either remotely or onsiteA desire to achieve mor and with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skillsFlexible and forward-thinking approachMust be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a teamWillingness and ability to travel in the UK and to overseas occasionally (if required)**Security Clearance will be required for this role and therefore only applications from candidates that hold this or able to obtain this will be considered**If you feel you meet the requirements for the role of the ILS Eng/Technical Author then apply directly or contact Peter Heap at Jonathan Lee Recruitment.
