At WSP Engineering we are working with an expanding portfolio of blue chip clients and equipment manufacturers to provide them with the expertise they need to deliver capital projects, process improvements and engineering safety compliance. The role of consultant safety engineer will be working in our Consultancy function on internal and external projects. This role will involve working with our projects and technical services teams on engineering safety requirements as well as directly with our clients performing machinery safety and conformity assessments. Ideally you will have been working in the food manufacturing or FMCG industry and we are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of manufacturing sites as well as equipment build and installation. You will have machinery safety knowledge, a recognised safety qualification and have an engineering background. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of legislative support to internal and external clients
- Responsible for specific aspects of the safety design and management throughout the project to ensure requirements of relevant legislation are met
- Responsible for planning and managing small projects to deliver the client’s requirements on time and within budget as part of personal development
- Responsible for ensuring that all work meets the client’s standards and complies with all relevant legislation
- Responsible for effective communication with the client and the WSP Engineering team
- Support the WSP Senior team to utilise and develop the WSP Engineering consultancy management methodology with effective review to improve as necessary
- Responsible for specific aspects of the design phases of the project to ensure the best solution is identified within the budget available
- Responsible for specific aspects of the deployment phases of the project to ensure work is delivered on time and to the right standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- 3 -5 years of experience in an engineering safety related role or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Recognised qualification in Health & Safety (or working towards)
