An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer in Felixstowe, specializing in manufacturing, maintaining and overhauling diesel-electric locomotives, engines and associated equipment across the world. As part of the Field Service team, you will be instrumental in maintaining the customer’s locomotive fleet to ensure safe and reliable operation.

This role would be ideal for an experienced technician with a track record of dealing with diesel engine technology / equipment, used to work unsupervised and looking to enhance their skill sets and career opportunities while we continue to grow with the UK Freight Industry. You will join a friendly and supportive team of dedicated individuals and approachable managers who care about every team member and provide self-development through continuous training.

The Field Sales Engineer role will include:

Carrying out scheduled maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and fault-finding activities.
Responding to the customer’s unscheduled events in a rapid & efficient manner while delivering high standards of engineering workmanship, to include detailed reports and documentation.
Acting as a role model with a safety mindset exemplifying the company’s QHSE Policies and Core values.
Building productive and effective working relationships with company staff, peers and customers.
Partaking in a 24/7 on-call roster to provide out of hours support to the customer.
Contribute with key stakeholders to help build a reliable fleet.
Ensuring all work is documented correctly through our maintenance management system. To be a successful Field Service Engineer:

Demonstrate a flexible approach and attitude to working hours that are out of normal hours of work.
Have a proven track record of working effectively with diesel engineering technology, associated systems and controls.
An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical experience in a similar role.
Reasonable IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft office
Right to work in the UK Package for you as a Field Service Engineer:

Salary of £45,000 (including shift allowance)
5 Hours per week (Monday - Friday)
On Call system covering 1 week in 10 for nights and 1 week in 10 for days (inc. Enhanced holiday entitlement
