Senior professional responsible for advising a client on health & safety issues relating to large construction projects, from project initiation to completion. Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives
# Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project
# Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor
# Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site
# Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client’s requirements
# Managing the client’s health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high-quality service
# Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations, and legislations
# Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work
# Cooperating with others involved with the project
# Facilitating good communication between the client, designers, and contractors
# Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work
# Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site

The role will be permanently based on a large construction project and the successful candidate must be someone who can work independently. The role will require both high-level monitoring of a principal contractor and the candidate must be able to act on behalf of the client whilst maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the contractor.
Sound construction related health and safety management experience post Tech IOSH qualification; Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of construction related health and safety management; Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction; Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills; Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates/Tech IOSH minimum (will be considered with the right amount of experience and other qualifications) NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.
