It offers a great opportunity to add real value and create improvements to the way we work and how we service our growing number of clients and consultants.
The responsibilities
- Being a key day to day client contact for operations and logistics on your own portfolio of projects. Driving the key delivery dates to help progress each client from contract sign off, to programme launch, through to the smooth running of each project, whilst delivering first-class client service to budget.
- Working with clients and the internal team you will create client project plans, arrange and take part in client reviews and be seen as a key member of the team.
- Working with our consultants to help plan the delivery of our programmes to ensure an excellent delegate experience.
- Working with our consultants to help create content and materials (e.g. slide decks, handouts etc) to support project delivery.
- Proactively leading the measurement of the impact of our work with clients, coordinating feedback, creating reports and working with clients on tracking impact and performance improvement.
- Keeping all PM systems up to date (e.g. Asana and CMap) to ensure the Resourcing team (and other areas of the business) have the information they need to operate effectively.
- Understanding and being abreast of project data and reporting. Being responsible for flagging the data to the Account Team when necessary.
- Leading on project reporting and the interpretation/analysis of project data.
- Taking the lead (with strong team support) as the project manager on key business initiatives that require cross functional support to be delivered on time and within budget.
The person
- The ideal candidate will be well-organised and thorough, with strong attention to detail.
- You must have: pride in your work, a desire to make a difference, a positive can-do attitude, a curiosity about how you can keep on improving your performance and an excitement about working with good people who care for each other and help each other succeed.
- Proactive, ambitious and energetic person who is happy to plan, coordinate and execute the key day to day client and project management activities.
- Someone who wants to make a difference every day though the quality of their work and the support they give to others.
- Very comfortable with making the everyday happen but also attracted by the variety offered in the role and the opportunity to grow with the business.
- Responds well to strong levels of autonomy and the ability to make a real difference.
- A self-driven person who thrives in a small, rapidly growing organisation.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Have strong technical ability and be comfortable working with new systems and manipulating data.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in one or more of the following: working with clients, running projects and/or working with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in the L&D world.
The rewards
- A forward-thinking organisation with a flexible approach to working hours/patterns and how to get the job done.
- A place of work and a team who are respectful of the boundaries set by all parties to achieve work/life success and happiness.
- An attractive base salary for full time employment from £24,000 p/a dependent on experience.
- Up to 15% annual bonus (based on personal performance and company performance) and a pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution.
- 25 days holiday (increasing by 1 day per year of employment up to 28), plus a day off for your birthday.
- Finish early on Fridays
- Strong opportunities for career development and progression in a small and dynamic business that aims to look after and support each other in our personal and professional goals.
- Ability to make a real difference to the Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? business and your own career aspirations.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations, you’ll be based in or commutable to London. Our office is in Hammersmith but we take a flexible approach to working, and working from home is possible when needed … it’s all about performance and how you achieve results, not where or when.
About Will It Make The Boat Go Faster?
Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? is a fast growing performance consultancy founded in 2012 by Olympic Gold medallist Ben Hunt-Davis and Tom Barry, an experienced leadership development specialist. Since then, we have been strengthened further with a growing team, including numerous Olympians and Learning and Development and Performance experts.
Our story starts with Ben’s journey to the 2000 Sydney Olympics with the GB Men’s Rowing Eight. Central to their preparation, and turnaround from perennial losers to Gold medal winners, was the way the crew used the simple question “will it make the boat go faster?” to challenge everything they did.
This incredible story and the strategies behind it became the basis for a memorable keynote speech, a best-selling business book and a range of performance principles and behaviours that drive our high-performance programmes, board consultation, workshops, events and leader-led learning products.
You’ll have heard of many of our clients, who range from the largest and most successful multinationals to rapidly growing mid-market companies. We help these organisations, their leaders and teams achieve and sustain their best possible performance by taking proven Olympic-winning strategies and using them to achieve their highest personal and professional ambitions.
We’re twelve years old now and have made huge progress, but we want to our boat-speed still further and we’re looking for others to help us. We are passionate about developing our team and making them the very best they can be. We have a powerful brand, a great reputation, huge client success … and we need ensure we have a gold medal winning Client Services function to match.
Our Crazy Goal is “to be world class at enabling our clients and each other to win their gold medals”. If that fits with what you would like to achieve in your career, then we would love to hear more about you.
What next?
