We are looking for an Audit Senior / Supervisor or Assistant Manager to join our Financial Services Audit team.
We are flexible on location within Scotland.
Within audit we have specialist teams that focus on the financial services and funds sectors, both of which are very significant contributors to the UK economy and Johnston Carmichael's growth as a business.
Our Financial Services Team focuses on the wealth and asset management sector, including corporate asset managers, private equity and venture capital structures, LSE listed entities (including FTSE250s) and boasts a number of multi-national household names as clients. As part of this fast growing team you will get exposure to high profile public interest entities, complex investment structures, interesting investments and be able to challenge yourself within a supportive dedicated team.
These structures make investment in a portfolio of investments, typically ranging from equities to bonds but also including derivative contracts and much more. As part of this team you will quickly get the opportunity to experience an entire audit from start to finish really setting the building blocks for your career within a close knit team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day Audit work; flagging up issues and concerns to the Audit Manager at an early stage; training Assistants as needed; ensuring deadlines and budgets are met and the Audit file is presented for review as a substantially complete file, finished to a good standard and signed off.
TheAudit Senior/Supervisor (Funds) will be responsible for (but not limited to):
Completing or overseeing the Audit planning documentation
Arranging the timing of the Audit work with the Audit Manager responsible for the client
Planning, scheduling, and delegating work to Audit Assistants, as available, ensuring the most complex work is completed as soon as practical; the Audit Assistants are supported as necessary to complete their work to the standard required; and the Audit work is completed on time and to a high standard
Briefing, training and debriefing Audit Assistants, giving formal feedback as required
Liaising with client staff and building effective relationships with them
Monitoring budgeted versus actual time spent, flagging up scope issues, fieldwork issues and overruns to the Audit Manager on a timely basis
