The role is for a bank band 5 medicine management technician. The hours are 9-5pm including late shifts and weekends as per rota.
Have experience of working in a hospital pharmacy post qualification.


Provide a high quality patient focused medicine optimisation service, helping to provide a flexible and responsive service to patient needs.


Participate in medicines management, ward top-up dispensary and ward-based dispensing.
Medicines Optimisation Service Provision


1 To be responsible for the provision of a high quality patient focused medicinesoptimisation service to patients of the Trust, associated hospitals andcommunity clinics.


3 To carry out audit and project work.


5 To be responsible for gaining medication histories e.g. telephoning GPs whenappropriate.


6 To support the dispensary in the timely dispensing of discharge medication.


11 To assist in the training of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and nurses inthe one-stop dispensing and self-administration system.
1 To be responsible for the provision of a high quality patient focused dischargeservice to patients of the Trust and help ensure that service provision isflexible and responsive to patient needs.


6 To support the dispensary in the timely dispensing and supply of discharge medication.


1 To provide a high quality, patient focused pharmaceutical service to inpatients,out-patients, discharge patients, community clinics, and outlyingnursing homes if needed.


2 To work in the dispensary to assist in the medicines optimisation process andas part of the weekend/late duty rota.


3 To work as an ACT in the dispensary, and if required at a ward level.


8 To input prescription information in the pharmacy computer system for dispensing and supply of medicines to patients.


11 To have a working knowledge of pharmacy stock control and ordering systems.


14 To be working as an ACPT (accredited pharmacy checking technician) adhering to the minimum 8 hours per month.


When practicing as an ACPT, to work within defined boundaries as set out inthe Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures and Medicines Policies.


Education and Training


4 To participate in education and training of other healthcare professionals.


5 To participate in education and training schemes and meetings organisedwithin the department.


8 To take part in the weekend and bank holiday service according to rota.


Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults At Risk


when concerns have been made about a child, young person or adults at risk. The Trust will assist you by providing mandatory training, support and advice.


IT Skills -All staff are required to demonstrate a level of IT literacy skills appropriate to their job, as it is fundamental in delivering good quality efficient health care.


Have good IT knowledge and training experience on Pharmacy systems


Provide dispensary-based patient services to inpatients and outpatients
To support all pharmacists (including pre-registration trainees) in the provision of the service, and if qualified to do so, practice as an ACPT.
To help audit the service against set standards and assist in the review of service provision.
To participate in financial evaluation of medicines and expenditure reporting.
To provide specialist pharmacy technical input into the electronic prescribing and medicines administration system (ePMA), contributing towards both operational and strategic developmentThrough provision of an effective Pharmacy service, this post will
