Reference: EB2905796 We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2IC of History to join our dynamic team at a Secondary school in Norbury. As the 2IC of History, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of History in leading The history department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality history education that inspires and engages students. You will assist in curriculum development, teaching and learning initiatives, and departmental administration, contributing to the overall success of the history department. Key Responsibilities: Support the Head of History in leading and managing the history department, including curriculum planning, resource development, and assessment. Assist in the delivery of engaging and effective history lessons, fostering a love for the subject and promoting critical thinking skills among students. Mentor and support history teachers, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching practice. Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular links and enrich the history curriculum through interdisciplinary projects and activities. Contribute to departmental administration, including maintaining records, organizing departmental meetings, and coordinating extracurricular history initiatives. Requirements: Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant postgraduate qualification in History or a related field. Proven experience teaching history at secondary level, with a strong track record of student achievement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues. Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with the capacity to support the Head of History in effectively managing the department. A passion for history and a commitment to promoting historical knowledge, understanding, and appreciation among students.
