As the largest provider of leisure, libraries and lifestyle services in Warrington, Livewire aim to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide increased participation in activities throughout our facilities including Learn to Swim. As a Level 1 Swim Teacher you will report directly to the Aquatics Manager and support our Level 2 Swim Teachers to provide fun and engaging swimming lessons across all our Aquatic sites.

The role

As a Level 1 Swim Teacher you will support our Level 2 Swim Teachers primarily in delivering the early stages of our Learn to Swim Programme, where we follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework. This support will be provided in the water during the lessons, providing assistance to children who need a little additional support to progress through the programme. Hours vary across sites with the Learn to Swim Programme running across all sites at varied times during the week and weekend.

What's needed?

- Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification or equivalent - however, training may be available for suitable candidates who don't hold any swim teaching qualifications.

- a current RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

Good communication skills and a knowledge of the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework are required. A successful candidate would have a flexible and adaptable work ethic along with an empathetic, friendly and motivational approach to teaching.
