As a Barclays Enhanced Due Diligence Manager, you will have the opportunity to conduct reviews of the Corporate Bank’s Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and other High Risk relationships. You will join a team that sits in the first line of defence but acts independently of the relationship managers they support. Given the high risk nature of PEPs and other relationships requiring EDD, the team have a critical role for the Corporate Bank to ensure the AML/Sanctions and ABC risks of clients are identified, understood and managed accordingly.

What will you be doing?

Being responsible for completing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for PEP Individuals, PEP Entities and other High Risk Customer Types

Identifying and understanding the AML/ Sanctions/ABC Risk associated with PEP and other High Risk relationships is at the heart of this role

Being responsible for identifying and reviewing information from multiple sources, summarizing the output in a consolidated, easy-to-follow manner

Analysing the findings of the EDD reviews and making recommendations to maintain or exit a relationship or undertake further EDD to mitigate risks identified

Collaborating with the compliance function and with relationship teams and Know Your Customer CDD delivery teams to complete high quality EDD for PEP

Operating at a senior level: delivering reports that will allow senior management within the business to make decisions on On-Boarding and maintaining PEP clients

Supporting manage the PEP EDD process in the wider CB Financial Crime Execution environment, ensuring smooth escalation and closure of escalations

Responding to ad-hoc advisory enquiries related to PEPs and High Risk relationships from other stakeholders in the bank including KYC, Coverage, the Corporate Bank

What we’re looking for:

Experience in a corporate investigations or compliance role in a financial services, consulting or corporate environment or in the public sector

Ability to present complex subject matters concisely and confidently at Forum meetings and engage with internal and external stakeholders often at Managing Director level

Ability to make recommendations and respond to challenges and provide balanced analysis and reasoned arguments to support recommendations

In-depth knowledge and understanding of AML/Sanctions/ABC risks and ability to analyse those in a commercial banking context

Skills that will help you in the role:

Educated to Degree level

Interest in geopolitical events and confidence in analysing risks in the context of financial flows

Previous experience using open source research tools such as Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Orbis or World-check

Previous experience of Financial Crime Compliance and Enhanced Due Diligence of PEPs is desirable
