Research Physiologist

They will work independently to deliver services in the Ceredigion area, supporting STP and PTP trainees. As a senior respiratory physiologist or scientist within the Health Board they will providing clinical leadership and guidance for the respiratory physiologist teams in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, and working with senior sleep physiologists in South Carmarthenshire.


We provide a range of respiratory diagnostic investigations and deliver a local sleep service. We maintain strong links with our local education provider.

To liaise closely with the sleep sciences lead to develop and improve services throughout the region of Hywel Dda University Health Board.


The clinical lead will act as a mentor to staff performing respiratory investigations, actively encouraging a learning environment and supporting students and junior staff to develop their knowledge and skills.

BSc Clinical Physiology (Respiratory) or equivalent and clinical experience.
Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP), Part 1 & 2, combined or equivalent and clinical experience.
Evidence of relevant post graduate qualification in associated specialty to masters level or equivalent experience.

Experience of training and supervising students and others.
Experience of delivering advanced clinics.
Experience of managing quality and cycles of improvement or change.

Language Skills
Welsh Speaker (Level 1)


Able to travel and transport equipment to off site clinics in a timley manner.
