Apprentice Service Technician

We are seeking a motivated individual to join Stellantis & You Peugeot Preston as a Service Technician Apprentice. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to become a proficient service technician in the automotive industry. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will gain hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Stellantis products and services. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about mechanics, problem-solving, and providing exceptional customer service.
Assist senior technicians in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems.
Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments.
Participate in equipment installations and upgrades under supervision.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests and projects.
Document service activities, including work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and product knowledge.
Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries, explain service procedures, and provide recommendations.
Assist with inventory management, including tracking parts and supplies used during service operations.
A standard workweek typically consists of 40 hours, scheduled from Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Approximately 20% of your total work hours will be dedicated to ‘off-the-job’ training. This is a mixture of online classrooms and face-to-face learning at The Performance Academy in Coventry.
All of our Apprentic es are employed through the Dealer Network and attend week-long block training at our state-of-the-art Training Centre in Coventry.
Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced Coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules.
Throughout your apprenticeship journey, we are committed to nurturing your growth and development, guiding you toward attaining a widely recognized qualification in the motor industry. This qualification serves as a cornerstone for building your career, offering abundant opportunities within our expanding Dealer Network. Level 2 Autocare (12 months)
Level 3 Light Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (24-26 months)
All employers are required to pay, at least, The National Apprenticeship Wage.
Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
A strong interest in learning about the service and maintenance of petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Working towards or in possession of a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
