Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Mallory Partners are seeking an Interim Chief Financial Officer to join a private equity backed multi-site product led distribution business based in The West Midlands. This interim role is crucial as the company undergoes a period of significant transformation and change.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a CFO within a private equity backed environment, with the ability to swiftly adapt to dynamic business needs and deliver results within a limited timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to provide strategic financial guidance and support during this interim period.
  • Streamline and optimise the finance function, including systems, processes, controls, and reporting, to meet short-term objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of robust financial controls and drive immediate improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver concise monthly performance reports to the board, offering actionable insights and recommendations for immediate impact.
  • Manage working capital and cash flow effectively to ensure financial stability and support the company's short-term objectives.
  • Provide interim mentorship and leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Professional qualification as an Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), coupled with extensive experience in finance leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in driving business improvement initiatives, including rapid systems implementations and process enhancements.
  • Exceptional interim leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards short-term goals.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, coupled with outstanding stakeholder management abilities.

The business in question operates under a hybrid working routine with three days per week in the office.

This interim position is based in a location that is easily commutable for most individuals in The West Midlands, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, or Leicestershire.
