You will drive forward IWM’s programme of curatorially-motivated disposals, ensuring that approved items complete the process and exit our estate. You will take responsibility for all elements of the process, from securing all relevant approvals and liaising with internal colleagues on issues such as hazard and risk assessment, to identifying new recipients for items and managing a compliant exit process. Further, you will manage the entry and acquisition of items into the collections, ensuring all relevant approvals are secured, due diligence applied and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
You will work effectively with external bodies including DCMS, the Museums Association and networks of other museums. Internally, you will work collaboratively with IWM staff (including curators, conservation, preservation, exhibitions and communications teams) so that the shared knowledge of our experts supports our collections development strategies and masterplans.
The role is based at IWM Duxford, but you can expect to travel to other branches occasionally for meetings.
