Job Description

With the increasing uncertainty associated with catastrophe risks (both natural and man-made), catastrophe models are an integral part of catastrophe risk management. These roles evaluate exposure data and model catastrophe losses for client portfolios so that brokers can advise their clients on their insurance or reinsurance needs.

As a middle-level individual contributor, a Catastrophe Risk Management Analyst is ready to apply the knowledge acquired via an advanced education and to start to develop professional skills with the help of a manager and more experienced team members.

The ideal candidate has strong capability with AIR models and sufficient knowledge of major modelled perils. Comfortable in querying into the model backend tables through SQL or Alteryx. Ability to use PowerBI or other programming tool will be a bonus. Good eye to detail, self-efficient and always keen to learn new skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Handling end to end modelling process in Main vendor models: RMS, TS, TS RE
  • Be able to use both man-made and Nat cat models
  • Technical knowledge on multi-Model conversion
  • Assist with project tracking and compliance requirement
  • Support the pre and post event exposure and loss modelling process
  • Drive process efficiencies by embedding technology, most notably Alteryx, within all product lines
  • Provide general catastrophe modelling training
  • Maintaining up-to-date documentation
  • Programming skills are a nice-to-have but not a must
