Etrading Software is the Managed Services Partner for the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), which is a fully automated generator of International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) for financial services counterparties trading OTC derivatives. The DSB is the first numbering agency designed to operate on a global basis and to meet the particular requirements of the derivatives markets.

Business Analyst

Job Summary:

Etrading Software Ltd. is looking for a Business Analyst who is expected to play a key role in ensuring the long-term quality, stability and development of the DSB's main services - namely, the provision of OTC ISINs and UPIs to the OTC derivatives industry. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will need to develop a deep and detailed understanding of the DSB's range of products and understand how these identifiers are generated and accessed. They will also need to manage the functional evolution of our systems through engagement with senior external stakeholders and the definition of pragmatic solutions that address business needs, service risks and regulatory requirements.

As can be seen from the responsibilities listed below, the position is focused on core BA skills and will also involve oversight of the product lifecycle (from task initiation through to delivery). However, as with any role in a small or medium-sized company, the job is varied and will also include leading presentations to senior industry players along with quickly becoming the SME for the escalation of detailed queries from the user community.

In more general terms, it is essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate basic analytical skills, a methodical approach and an attention to detail. In addition, the candidate should have a knowledge of the financial markets and be comfortable communicating ideas to wider groups of people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and prioritise business requirements, define functional solutions and create business process flows.
  • Lead requirements and solution discussion with key stakeholders in group meetings.
  • Write detailed change requests for the technical tea and produce user documentation (inc. product definitions).
  • Generate test cases and perform validation testing.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on all functional aspects of the DSB's core services.
  • Understanding, deconstructing and summarising regulatory and standards documentation.
  • Liaise with the technical team (development, quality assurance, support, management) on requirement and design details.
  • Report progress, issues, risks etc. to the senior management team.
About You (Must-haves):

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar field is required for this position.
  • Experience in creating requirements documents, business process diagrams and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets (especially OTC Derivative).
  • Confidence to build clear, concise, logically consistent documentation.
  • Ability to construct presentations and to conduct detailed functional discussions in a group setting.
  • You are confident in working collaboratively and as part of a global team. Experience working closely with technical teams.
Advantages (Nice-to-haves, Not Required)
  • Practical knowledge of business analysis methodologies (eg: UML modelling tools, BPMN, state diagrams, conceptual data models etc.
  • Experience of working with regulations and standards - especially trade/transaction reporting.
  • Ability to manage, monitor and report tasks from initiation to delivery.
  • Experience as a product owner in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Jira, Elastic/Kibana, Visio.
    • FIX, JSON, XML and/or SQL.
    • ISO 10962 (CFI), ISO 20022 or other associated standards.
