As an organisation, The First Step has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults who are at risk, and so all our staff and volunteers undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check where appropriate. The First Step is an accredited Living Wage Employer, and also holds an Investors in People accreditation.

The First Step organisation operates across two sites:

  • Head Office and Community Services based in Huyton.
  • Accommodation Services for a women's and children’s refuge in Knowsley.
