Daily rate: £500 UMB

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Planning Manager to join a strategic planning team supporting Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) initiatives. This role will involve close collaboration with colleagues in Tokyo, supporting expatriates based in London and Frankfurt, and contributing to the financial performance evaluation of the business. The position requires strong financial acumen, bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English, and a solid understanding of management accounting and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Performance Management :

• Track profit and cost metrics, evaluating business performance against fiscal year targets.

• Provide analysis and insights on financial performance to senior management.

• Collaboration with Tokyo Colleagues :

• Act as a bridge between teams in London and Tokyo, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

• Support expatriates from Tokyo working in the EMEA region, particularly London and Frankfurt.

• Committee and Reporting Support :

• Assist in the preparation of reports and materials for key committees, forums, and management meetings.

• Ensure accurate and timely escalation of key insights and recommendations to senior management.

• IT Systems and Strategic Planning :

• Leverage IT tools to streamline business planning processes and support strategic initiatives.

• Recommend and support the implementation of system enhancements as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• Language Requirements :

• Fluency in English and Japanese (spoken and written) is mandatory.

• Ability to work with Tokyo-based counterparts who may have varying levels of English proficiency.

• Technical Proficiency :

• Advanced Excel skills are essential.

• Familiarity with Power BI and Tableau is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Financial Acumen :

• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles.

• Prior experience in financial institutions is preferred, but any financial services background is acceptable.

• Additional Skills :

• Management accounting expertise.

• Experience in strategic planning and supporting IT systems implementation.

Team and Reporting Structure

• The role is part of a planning team led by a Head of Planning managing a group of 14 members.

• Collaborates closely with a sub-team focused on Nico Tokyo-related tasks, with allocated responsibilities for each team member.
