White & Sons is a multi-disciplinary property consultancy with six offices in Surrey. Our commercial team is looking to appoint a Trainee Surveyor to work alongside our existing team of surveyors.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Commercial Property department as a Trainee Surveyor. The ideal candidate will be working towards their RICS qualification and have a strong interest in pursuing a career in the commercial property sector. This is a varied role which involves assisting senior surveyors in providing professional services to clients, including agency, valuations and property management. Key Responsibilities:

Support the agency team in the acquisition and disposal of commercial properties, including preparing marketing materials, conducting inspections and liaising with clients and other professionals. Assist in the valuation of commercial properties, including offices, retail spaces, and industrial units, for various purposes such as leasing, sale, purchase, and secured lending. Assist in the management of commercial properties, including the preparation of service charge budgets and licenses and the negotiation of Lease Renewals and Rent Reviews. Assist in the obtaining of comparable evidence and maintenance of the property database. Carry out inspections and surveys of commercial properties to assess their condition, value, and potential for development or change of use. Prepare reports and presentations for clients, providing clear and concise information and recommendations. Keep abreast of changes in legislation, regulations, and market trends affecting the commercial property sector. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals in the industry. Actively work towards achieving RICS qualification, including completing required coursework and practical experience. Contribute to the growth and development of the Commercial Property department, including the identification of new business opportunities and the support of senior team members. Key Skills: Working towards RICS qualification with a strong understanding of commercial property matters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to clients and colleagues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find practical solutions to challenges. Proficient in the use of relevant software, such as Microsoft Office and property valuation tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to work. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. Willingness to travel to visit properties and meet with clients as required. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. Right to work in the UK, full driving license and access to car is required.
